IMPRESSIVE CAREER
André Willms is one of the most successful German rowers of the 1990s. As a 20-year-old, the athlete from SC Magdeburg won Olympic gold in the men’s quadruple sculls in Barcelona in 1992 and defended his title four years later in Atlanta. Having won a total of five world championship titles, he dominated international rowing for over a decade. He also stood on the podium again at his third Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, winning bronze.
